The 9115 can deliver up to 1200 W in multiple combinations of voltage up to 80 V and current up to 60 A. With a high density, compact 1U form factor and standard 19" rack-mountable design, this DC power supply can replace multiple power supplies on a bench or in a rack, making it suitable for a variety of benchtop or ATE system applications.

Conventional power supplies with fixed output ratings often limit the range of voltage and current operation available to the user. The 9115’s multi-ranging capability automatically recalculates voltage and current limits for each setting and can provide wide voltage and current operating ranges without forfeiting high output power, thus saving valuable bench space by eliminating the need for large bulky power supplies or multiple units.

On the front panel, the 9115 features a high resolution, 1 mV/1 mA VFD display, independent voltage and current control knobs, cursors, and a numerical keypad for direct data entry. The instrument also provides internal memory storage to save and recall up to 100 different instrument settings.

For programming and remote control, the 9115 offers a plethora of features to the user: adjustable voltage rise and fall times, sequence (list mode) programming, master/slave mode for series or parallel connectivity, remote sense, a DB25 analog interface with control and monitoring functions, and standard USBTMC-compliant USB, RS-232, GPIB, and RS-485 interfaces supporting SCPI commands.

Furthermore, the 9115 provides configurable overvoltage and overpower protection limits, and a front panel key-lock function to prevent accidental damage to a device under test.

B&K Precision Introduces Modular DC Electronic Load for Multi-Channel DC Source Testing

Featuring Dynamic Loading Speeds Up to 25 kHz, Parallel Module Synchronization, Adjustable Slew Rates, and Constant Impedance Mode

YORBA LINDA, CA, April 19, 2013 -- B&K Precision today announced its new MDL Series; a modular programmable DC electronic load system. The MDL Series comprises six unique modules ranging in power from 200 W to 600 W. Any combination of these modules can be installed for multi-channel operation in the 4-slot MDL Series mainframe, which supports up to 2400 W and up to 4800 W with a mainframe extension connected. Suitable for use in industries such as automotive, solar, and electronics manufacturing, this high performance DC electronic load system is designed for characterizing a wide range of DC power sources, including multi-output AC/DC power supplies, batteries, fuel cells, and photovoltaic arrays.

All DC load modules in the MDL Series can operate in constant current (CC), constant voltage (CV), constant resistance (CR), constant power (CW), and constant impedance (CZ) mode, which uses DSP technology to simulate realistic non-linear loading behavior. Depending on the module, users can select from operating voltage and current ranges up to 500 V and 120 A. A 250 W dual-channel module supporting flexible power allocation up to 300 W is also offered. Load modules in the MDL Series mainframe can be synchronized and connected in parallel for increased current and power.

With its high resolution 16-bit measurement system, the MDL Series system supports many useful features such as adjustable current slew rates in CC mode, transient mode operation up to 25 kHz, and list mode programming for generating complex sequences of input changes. Up to 101 groups of settings parameters can also be saved for executing multiple test sequences in automatic production testing.

For remote PC control, the MDL Series mainframe offers standard GPIB, Ethernet, USB, and RS232 interfaces supporting USBTMC and SCPI communication protocols. The mainframe also offers a built-in 8-pin control terminal for external triggering and synchronous load On/Off functions. Each module includes an analog current control and monitoring terminal for external analog programming.

Additionally, the MDL Series provides all necessary protection functions for various testing conditions: overvoltage (OVP), overcurrent (OCP), overpower (OPP), overtemperature (OTP), and local and remote reverse voltage (LRV/RRV) protection.

-- B&K Precision today expanded its digital storage oscilloscope (DSO) portfolio with the release of their new 2550 Series. This new series of scopes adds four 2-channel models (2552, 2554, 2556, 2558) and four 4-channel models (2553, 2555, 2557, 2559) ranging from 70 MHz to 300 MHz bandwidth with 2 GSa/s sampling rates and 24 kpts/Ch memory. These high performance digital oscilloscopes cover a wide range of applications in R&D, service and repair, and education at a cost-effective price point.

While maintaining a portable form factor, the 2550 Series introduces a significant increase in display size compared to typical 5.7" displays on economy scopes. The new models feature a widescreen 7" TFT color display that maximizes visibility of signals under test, a great benefit for long waveform captures or 4-channel acquisition.

All models in the 2550 Series offer powerful debugging tools such as digital filtering with adjustable limits, waveform recorder mode, pass/fail testing, advanced triggering capabilities, 32 automatic measurements, and a large internal storage for saving and recalling up to 20 different waveforms and 20 oscilloscope setups. The scopes can also perform five waveform math functions - add, subtract, multiply, divide, and FFT.

Each DSO comes standard with LAN and USB interfaces supporting SCPI and USBTMC protocols for remote PC control. The provided PC software allows all scope parameters to be controlled via a PC without the need for programming. At no additional cost, high bandwidth passive probes (one per channel) are also included with each unit. 200 and 300 MHz models add selectable 50-ohm input impedance.

Other useful features include context-sensitive help menus, multi-language interface, and the ability to disable the Auto Set button for training. Front and rear panel USB host ports are provided to quickly save setup and waveform data, screenshots, or CSV files to a USB flash drive.

B&K Precision Launches Redesigned 7 & 12 MHz DDS Sweep Function Generators for Basic Applications

-- B&K Precision today announced two new DDS (direct digital synthesis) sweep function generators, models 4007B and 4013B, which improve upon the former models 4007DDS and 4013DDS with an enhanced user interface as well as lower prices. Models 4007B and 4013B can generate sine and square waveforms from 0.1 Hz to 7 MHz and 0.1 Hz to 12 MHz respectively. Both models also output triangle/ramp waveforms from 0.1 Hz to 1 MHz and provide variable output voltages from 0 to 10 Vpp into 50 ohms or 20 Vpp into open circuit. These new models offer affordable solutions to educators, technicians, and hobbyists who need low-cost, entry-level sweep function generators without compromising on quality.

Notable improvements to the interface over previous models are bright, informative LCD displays and numerical keypad for simple entry of waveform parameters. Convenient waveform and range selection buttons are provided to make adjustments quick and simple. Users can also easily navigate through the intuitive LCD display with menu function keys.

Additionally, the instruments provide linear and logarithmic sweep functions, variable DC offset from -4.5 V to 4.5 V (into 50 ohms), and adjustable 20% to 80% duty cycle up to 1 MHz for square and triangle waveform output. B&K Precision Debuts New Series of Programmable Dual Range DC Power Supplies for Bench and ATE Applications

These nine models provide clean and precise power up to 210 W in various configurations of voltage as high as 600 V and current as high as 20 A. Each model offers two ranges of voltage and current output along with modular interface slots for remote interface configurability. Demanding applications in R&D and manufacturing need more performance than a typical bench power supply. They require exceptionally clean and stable power, which equates to a power supply with very low ripple and noise, low temperature coefficients, excellent regulation, and fast transient response time characteristics.

Models in the 9170/9180 series feature excellent line and load regulation of ≤ 0.01% + 1mV, ≤ 0.01% + 250uA, ripple and noise as low as ≤ 0.35mVrms, a full numerical keypad with vertical and horizontal cursors for direct entry of voltage and current values, front and rear panel output terminals, remote sense terminals, and a standard SCPI compliant USB interface for remote control.

Unique to the 9170/9180 series is its modular interface design and special LED test modes. B&K Precision Adds New Power Supply to Dual Range Offerings

Complements Existing Model with Higher Current Ranges and Power up to 350 W

Delivering up to 350 W of power with constant voltage (CV) and constant current (CC) modes, model 1747 can output either higher voltage at a lower current range (0-60V, 5A), or higher current at a lower voltage range (0-35V, 10A). This new DC power supply is suitable for a wide variety of uses in electronics manufacturing, service and repair, and engineering labs.

The design of dual range power supplies gives users operational flexibility within voltage and current ranges depending on their application needs. This helps save both bench space and cost by eliminating the need for multiple power supplies on the bench or the purchasing of more power than necessary.

B&K Precision Releases Low-Cost Programmable Switching DC Power Supplies

Up to 360W Power, Analog and USB Remote Control

Each model offers a different configuration of variable output voltage and current: 1-60V, 0-5A (1685B); 1-36V, 0-10A (1687B); and 1-18V, 0-20A (1688B). All models provide constant voltage (CV) and constant current (CC) modes, bright 3-digit LED displays, and rotary encoder control knobs for precise coarse and fine voltage and current settings. Complemented with a compact form factor and low cost, these DC power supplies are practical for use in university labs, R&D, service, and production testing.

B&K Precision Introduces New 5 1/2-Digit True RMS Bench Multimeter

Offers 120,000-Count Resolution, Fast Internal Buffer Storage, USB and GPIB Interface

Featuring a 120,000-count display resolution, the 5492B provides 0.01% basic VDC accuracy along with a broad range of functions, and is suitable for any application requiring accurate and reliable measurements, all at an affordable price.

The 5492B offers many essential measurements for benchtop testing: DC voltage and true RMS AC voltage; DC current and true RMS AC current; two- and four-wire resistance; continuity; diode test; frequency; and period. The DMM also includes a variety of built-in math functions such as Rel, Max/Min, dBm, dB, %, limits, and Mx+B.

B&K Precision Redefines DSO Offerings with Built-In Function/Arbitrary Waveform Generator

Simplifies Test Benches with Combined 2-in-1 Instrument

YORBA LINDA, CA, March 8, 2012 -- B&K Precision today announced models 2540B-GEN and 2542B-GEN–the latest additions to its 2540B series of digital storage oscilloscopes. The integration of function/arbitrary waveform generation capability into these 60 MHz and 100 MHz, 1 GSa/s DSOs provides engineers with a low-cost, space-saving solution, and a 2-in-1 high performance test instrument for signal analysis and stimulus response testing.

With the integrated 20 MHz AWG in the 2540B-GEN and 40 MHz AWG in the 2542B-GEN, users can generate sine, square, and arbitrary waveforms from the oscilloscope's generator output terminal. The unique combination of a DSO and AWG allows users to easily capture and store signals directly from the oscilloscope's channels to the generator's internal memory. User-defined arbitrary waveforms can also be edited through Comsoft PC software and then uploaded to the instrument. Other features of the built-in AWG include frequency sweep, burst mode, and a wide variety of modulation schemes such as AM, FM, FSK, PSK, and PWM.

Both models also maintain the lightweight and portable form factor of their non-hybrid counterparts, and continue to include valuable tools such as pulse width, video and slope triggering, digital filtering, waveform recorder, pass/fail testing, FFT, and math functions.

Now accessible through the LAN interface is complete front panel emulation of the oscilloscope and built-in AWG allowing the DSOs to be fully web-enabled. Screenshots can also be captured from a web browser at a user-configurable refresh rate.

For educators, a graphical AWG help feature supplements the existing context-sensitive help feature, to explain parameters of built-in arbitrary waveforms and modulation schemes to students. The Auto Set button can still be disabled for training.

Available immediately, B&K Precision's 2540B-GEN (60 MHz DSO with 20 MHz AWG) and 2542B-GEN (100 MHz DSO with 40 MHz AWG) are listed at $1,195 and $1,395, respectively.
